Lefkada Public Library

In the heart of Lefkada, in the neoclassical building at 11 Rondogianni Street, the Public Library stands as a guardian of knowledge and art. Once a luxurious residence of the Zoulinos family and later a branch of the National Bank of Greece, today it houses rare collections, including 17th-century engravings and stunning Ionian icons by painters such as Doxaras and Ventouras.
One of the library’s most enchanting areas is the icon gallery, where visitors often find themselves mesmerized by the blend of religious devotion and artistic perfection. It is said that a local painter, inspired by these icons, left his mark on Lefkada’s contemporary art scene.
The library is open to all, with free entry.
