Venetian Olive Grove of Lefkada

In the North of the town of Lefkada, stretches a unique historical olive grove, a living monument of nature and time. Planted in 1684, when the Venetians encouraged agriculture over fishing, the area filled with centuries-old trees. Poet Angelos Sikelianos once described it as “the most impressive forest he had ever seen.” By 1770, over 44,000 trees had been recorded. Walking here feels like stepping into another era, full of history and fragrance.
