Prehistoric Tombs in Nydri
Just south of Nydri lie important archaeological remains: tombs and ruins dating back to the 3rd millennium BCE (Early Helladic period). Findings suggest a structured society, possibly with centralized governance. German archaeologist Wilhelm Dörpfeld excavated the site in the early 20th century and was amazed by the wealth of the discoveries. Many artifacts are now housed in the Archaeological Museum of Lefkada.
